Bio:

Do-Kyung (David) Pyun is a PhD candidate in Engineering Mechanics at Iowa State University (ISU). He completed his B. S. degree in mechanical engineering in 2015 and M. S. degree in mechanical convergence engineering in 2017 from Hanyang University, Seoul, South Korea. His research at CNDE involves the development of quantitative NDE techniques based on linear and nonlinear ultrasound for evaluating material properties and microstructural changes in epoxy based or metal structures. His studies include analytical solutions and numerical analysis of layered systems, and experimental analysis of adhesively jointed structures.

Research Interests:

Linear/Nonlinear Ultrasound, Wave Propagation in Layered Structures, Simulation/Experiments based Material Characterization, Macro/Micro-scale Defects Detection
