Bio:

Ruth Sunderman is a master’s student in Materials Science and Engineering at Iowa State University and an engineer in the Nondestructive Testing group at Honeywell Federal Manufacturing and Technologies.  She received her B.S. from ISU in Materials Engineering in 2015 with a minor in Nondestructive Evaluation.  She currently holds an ASNT Level 3 certification in ultrasonic testing. Ruth is investigating ultrasonic characterization approaches for additive manufacturing alloys under the guidance of Dr. Peter Collins. In particular, she is exploring the connection between the properties and performance of beta titanium alloys subjected to variations in heat treatment and the ultrasonic response using conventional ultrasonic approaches and Spatially Resolved Acoustic Spectroscopy (SRAS).
