Undergraduate Research Assistant
David is pursuing a B.S. in aerospace engineering at Iowa State University. His research at CNDE is performed under the direction of Dr. C. Thomas Chiou. David’s focus is the collection, modeling, and presentation of ultrasonic data. His projects includ ultrasound probe characterization, signal-to-noise model comparisons, inspection on additive manufactured samples, and titanium microstructure analysis. In addition, he has participated in software development on legacy programs and developed new programs from the ground up for distribution to industry users.
Outside CNDE, David is a section captain in the Iowa State marching band. He has also taken leadership positions in M:2:I and Boeing senior design projects, and is the vice president of Airpad student organization.
