"I have been but as a child playing on the seashore, now finding some prettier pebble or more beautiful shell than my companions, while the unbounded ocean of truth lay undiscovered before me."   Isaac Newton

This seminar series, which takes it name from the quotation ascribed to Newton, is about the key ideas and discoveries both large and small which have inspired new developments in science and technology. While acknowledging that applications provide the motivation for research in quantitative nondestructive evaluation, the focus of the series is primarily on fundamental theoretical ideas that help to provide insight into the way our testing and evaluation tools operate.

Unless indicated otherwise, all seminars will be held in the

Center for Nondestructive Evaluation Auditorium
257 Applied Sciences II, 1915 Scholl Road
