*The UIC campus is located just west of Chicago's famous central downtown area designated as the "Loop."  The "Loop" is the area that is surrounded by an elevated train system that circles the downtown area and provides one of many public transportation options in the city of Chicago.  The UIC campus includes more than 90 buildings on approximately 216 acres of land.  Most of the campus is south of the Eisenhower Expressway and north of Roosevelt Road.
