Jiadong Xu is a software developer and
researcher for the Center for Nondestructive Evaluation. He received a B.S.
degree in E. E. from TsingHua University (Beijing, PRC). Previously he worked at
TsingHua University and Beijing Polytechnic University as an assistant and
associate professor. His major was High voltage electrical apparatus and its
post-arc current, Automatic control, Microprocessor-based design. From Sep. 1987
to Dec. 1988 he was a visiting scientist at Laval University (Quebec, Canada).
Finished two projects: “A 3D acquisition methods based on light absorption
by a colored medium” and “Camera calibration technique for 3D machine vision
using TV camera and lens”, licensed to Quebec Hydro Research Institute (Canada);
From Jan. 1989 to Dec. 1991 he was a visiting scientist at E.E. of Iowa State
University. Finished projects: “Image Processing Software Package – HAPPY”
(granted by USDOC) and “Weld flaw auto detection” (sponsored by Martin Marietta
Co.). He joined CNDE since 1992. He developed XRSIM (Unix, Linux, VC6, VC7, VC8),
SCATSIM (Cluster version and PC version), CTSIM (I, II), POD and ECSIM software
package with other scientists. Also he developed other software such as part of
3D Visualization, Stress Model.
