Scott Wendt is an
Associate Scientist in the Center for Nondestructive Evaluation at
Iowa State University. He received a B.S. degree (1989) and a M.S.
(1994) in Nuclear Engineering from Iowa State University.
Previously he worked at Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory as an
Associate Engineer and Engineer from 1989 to 1992. After earning
the M.S. degree, Scott worked first as an Academic Advisor for the
ISU College of Engineering and then as the Reactor Manager for the
college’s UTR-10 nuclear reactor. He has been with CNDE on a
part-time basis since 1999 and a full-time basis since 2004. His
work at CNDE focuses on experimental measurements in x-ray film,
energy dispersive x-ray measurements, lead intensification screens,
x-ray scatter phenomenon and the implementation of experimental
models in computer simulation codes. He also serves as the
Center’s safety representative and machine shop coordinator.
