Brian Larson is an Associate
Scientist/Metallurgical Engineer for the Center for Nondestructive
Evaluation at Iowa State University. He is the Program Manager of
the Iowa Demonstration Lab for NDE, an outreach program to small to
medium sized manufactures, and the NSF North Central Collaboration
for NDE Education, a partnership between ISU and area community
colleges aimed at improving NDE technician education. He also
supports the FAA CASR program as a Principal Investigator for
several tasks involving liquid penetrant evaluations and the
development of test specimens containing corrosion and fatigue
damage. Prior to joining the Center for NDE in 1993, he was Manager
of the Materials and Process Engineering Labs at McDonnell Douglas
Aircraft Company in Long Beach, California. He received a B.S.
degree in Metallurgical Engineering from Iowa State University in
1984.
