Mike Garton is a software
developer and researcher for the Center for NDE. Mike received his
B.S. in Engineering Operations from Iowa State University and joined
the Center full time in 1992. Mike added a M.S. in Engineering
Mechanics from Iowa State in 1997. The title of his thesis was
"Refining Automated Ultrasonic Inspections with Simulation Models".
Mike has developed what we believe to be the most powerful
ultrasound ray-tracing software in existence. Also, he is the
primary developer for the UTSIM, ECSIM, and MAGSIM software
packages. Besides developing software, Mike has been applying
ultrasonic models to problems involving complex geometries.
