Carolina State University BS (1984) in Materials Science &
Engineering, and Iowa State University MS (1987) in Metallurgy.
She has 28 years experience in NDE research and application, with
emphasis on the transfer of university research results to industry
with 23 years at the Center for NDE at ISU where she currently
serves as the CNDE Associate Director. Brasche has served as
Program Manager for the Center for Aviation Systems Reliability
since its inception in 1990 and Program Facilitator for the Engine
Titanium Consortium since 1993. She has also served as the

Commitment to transfer of research results to industrial partners is
evidenced by her founding of the Iowa Demonstration Laboratory and
coordination of several working groups of the CNDE
Industry/University Cooperative Research Program. Current
research efforts include engineering studies for the fluorescent
penetrant inspection method, implementation studies associated with
ultrasonic methods, and model-assisted POD methodologies.
Brasche led the research team recognized with the 2004 ATA/FAA
